The ICSP is a professional association reflecting and promoting the best in sustainability practice, research and reporting – all towards creating a momentum towards development which meets the needs of those living today without jeopardizing those seeking the same in the future.

For both individual and organization members in business, academia and non-governmental areas, the ability to gain confidence among people who have a benchmarked certification along globally standard lines is a primary aim of the institute. In addition to building confidence in quality, the ICSP is aiming to set professional standards to help ensure that users and providers can be on the same page.

Within an already established network of graduates, now fulfilling roles within the National Committee on Sustainability Reporting, the Institute of Certified Sustainability Practitioners will be expanding its role in the key areas previously under the NCSR as well as establishing an Ethics Board, Professional Standards Board, Examination and Certification Board, and Members Obligations and Requirements Board.

Though the field of sustainability itself provide a powerful incentive, ISCP will be encouraging a Continuous Professional Accreditation in the social, environmental, and economic as well as risk and governance areas to meet the evolving demand both from international and national business and government bodies. Once feasible, ICSP will be assuming leadership from NCSR in holding the annual Sustainability Reporting Awards, which is approaching its 10th year.

In short, the ICSP will be promoting the disciplined and optimistic endeavors to encourage all organizations and sustainability practitioners to achieve the best in sustainability practice and reporting.

NCSR was established in 2005 by government bodies, corporations and individuals in early recognition of the need to develop competency in sustainability within Indonesia. In 2007, the Government of Indonesia included a requirement for conducting some sustainability actions and reporting on those actions for some private and public corporations. Since its inception, NCSR has remained updated on global sustainability issues, becoming a GRI Certified Training Partner and GRI Data Partner. NCSR has run the Indonesia Sustainability Reporting Awards since 2005.

The GRI Standards are the first global standards for sustainability reporting. They feature a modular, interrelated structure, and represent the global best practice for reporting on economic, environmental and social impacts. GRI is the internationally recognized leader in sustainability reporting frameworks, with over 20 years and hundred of people involved in formulating a flexible, powerful and recognizable format for all organizations to structure their communications to stakeholders.
